Citric Acid

Citric Acid Anhydrous (water-free) is a highly soluble white, crystalline powder with a strongly acidic taste. It is a natural occurring fruit acid and is also produced commercially by microbial fermentation of a carbohydrate substrate. Ingredients Canada Citric acid is an excellent chelation agent (a type of bonding of ions and molecules to metal ions), binding metals by making them soluble.

It is used to remove and discourage the buildup of limescale from boilers and evaporators. It can be used to treat water, which makes it useful in improving the effectiveness of soaps and laundry detergents.
